Learn To Pray One Hour Each Day
Here is a helpful tool that you can use to learn to pray at least one hour each day: Pray through the Tabernacle of Moses.
There are three sections in the Tabernacle of Moses-the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. There are six pieces of furniture which can correspond to 6 sections in your hour of prayer. They are as follows:
The Brazen Altar. This now represents the Cross. You can start your prayer time by thinking about the wounds that Jesus suffered on the Cross, giving Him thanks for all He has done for you.
The Bronze Laver represents washing or sanctification. Spend time repenting of your sins and receive His cleansing in thoughts, motives, deeds, attitudes, and desires.
The Golden Candlestick represents the Holy Spirit. It has seven lamps and can correspond to Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of the Lord(the central part of the candlestick), the Spirit of Wisdom(order), the Spirit of Understanding(clarity in the will of God), the Spirit of Counsel(to make the right decisions), the Spirit of Might(the power of God working in my life), the Spirit of Knowledge(skill to do what God calls me to do), the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord(purity, integrity, truthfulness).
The Table of Shewbread now represents the Communion Table which means your relationships with others, especially in the Body of Christ.
The Altar of Incense now represents Worship.
Finally we get to the Ark of the Covenant where we sit with Jesus Christ in His Throne in powerful Intercessory Prayer!
This is a tool to help you develop your prayer life. Obviously there are other tools, including the Lord’s Prayer as a pattern. Whatever works for you, the important thing is to learn to pray at least one hour each day. Jesus said, “could you not watch with Me one hour?”
